Free Tyre Safety Check at Protyre Outlets
Protyre support for October Tyre Safety Month will help to keep motorists safe on the road
Many motorists are ignoring their own safety and the safety of other road users by not checking the condition of the tyres on their vehicle. In support of Tyre Safety Month, which will run thoughout October, all 31 Protyre outlets in the UK will be offering motorists a free five-point tyre safety check.
Almost three quarters of customers visiting a Protyre locations in the past month have had at least one badly worn or defective tyre. The free tyre safety check will not only cover tread depth, signs of mis-alignment, sidewall damage and general condition, but also the vitally important area of tyre pressures. Research has shown that a tyre 20% under inflated will reduce tyre life by 25% as well as pumping out more CO2 emissions and increasing fuel consumption. Visitors to the Protyre supported TyreSafe website at
can log on to obtain the correct tyre pressures for the tyres on their car.
Commenting on tyre safety month, retail director at Protyre, Simon Hiorns said, ”Tyres are the ultimate forgettable product and yet they are the only contact that the vehicle has with the road. It is, therefore, vital that they are in good condition if you want to stay safe on the road. Our five-point safety check will only take a few minutes and drivers do not have to book, just turn up at anyone of our 31 outlets and a Protyre technician will carry out the check as well as providing any safety advice required”.
